So here we sit at the beach, and it’s fucking raining. I can’t remember the last time that it rained over Labor Day weekend around here. Now Memorial Day, that’s a whole other story. I can’t remember a Memorial Day weekend that it didn’t fucking rain. I have several friends that take a ride up to D.C. for the Rolling Thunder events and each year they come home swearing that they will never again take that long hard and very wet ride. Of course they could always trailer their bikes up and back but none of my friends would even consider doing that, as that is part of the whole adventure.
It’s a damned good thing that I brought along my laptop, since the only other thing to do around here at this particular beach is to go to a bar and I’m sorry but drinking in the morning and early afternoon just isn’t my thing. I don’t mind tossing back a few in the evening, but not until at least 5:00pm. The weatherman is trying to be positive about the whole weekend, but since when did I ever believe or trust anything that ever came out of that cocksuckers mouth?
This is the time of year that all the big yellow school buses are back out on the road during the morning rush hour. It can really fuck up your whole day getting stuck behind one of those, especially on a back road where you just can’t pass the bastards and go on about your way. And the smell of the exhaust coming out of those cocksuckers is about to you to death if you are driving with your windows down or have your vents open.
At least I don’t have to deal with them on the way back home in the evening. Usually they have already picked up and distributed all the little shits back home, safe and sound although a few stragglers are still on the road. I imagine they are the late buses for the kids who stayed after school for various reasons. Although the county that I live it had to do away with their late buses several years ago due to budget cut backs. That must really suck for kids and parents alike. I know that we used the late buses quite often when we attended school, both of our parents worked full time so they were not able to pick us up and it would have been a long ass walk home if not for those late buses.
Thank goodness we are coming up on Memorial Day Weekend. the unofficial start of summer!
Its already been like summer around here for the whole past month. Its hot. We get thunderstorms. We have longer daylight hours thanks to the wonderful invention of daylight savings.
This Memorial Day I am going to feel the sand between my toes. I need some beach time to relax and clear the cobwebs from my muddled brain. Know what I mean? There’s nothing like sand and cool water and a cold drink to make the day pass nicely by.
I don’t get the poking thing they have on Facebook. What the fuck is the point of poking people? Either you talk to them or you don’t. But this joke made me laugh out loud. I sure do wish this poking had a practical use.
What is going on today? I can’t get anything on the internet to work right. My Facebook is really slow to post comments and is acting all freaky. I keep getting error messages saying that database cannot be updated or some shit. And my email is sitting and spinning. It acts like I have all day to read a fucking message. It takes way too long to load an email for me to read it. And then when I want to delete it the email just sits there and does nothing.
Either we’ve got solar flares or sunspots making everything weird or my internet provider is sucking ass today.. I hate it when I call the cable company and get a recording that says areas are out of service. In today’s world they should have that covered better. There’s no excuse other than a natural disaster for the internet to be out or slow like this.
